Garth Barns and Country House comprises two converted barns, Hafod Barn and Ty Nant Barn, along with the original Garth Country House, set at the centre of 230 acres of unspoilt natural countryside.
Together, Hafod Barn, Ty Nant Barn and Garth Country House provide 18 bedrooms in total, 16 of which are ensuite. Guest numbers vary between retreats. Often every participant enjoys their own ensuite room, while at other times some rooms are shared. Most rooms are flexible and can be arranged as twin rooms, and a handful can accommodate three guests.
The venue offers beautiful uninterrupted countryside views and extensive gardens with several lawns suitable for outdoor practice.
Guests have direct access to exceptional walking and hiking routes, a small gym, a sauna, a fire pit, a private lake for wild swimming and boating, as well as wonderful woodland and flowing watercourses to explore. All water on the property is chemical-free, sourced from an underground spring within the organic estate.
Most retreats use the entire accommodation. However, especially during the cooler months, it is sometimes possible to host groups using only Garth Barns or only Garth Country House. We aim to be flexible and meet the specific needs of teachers and guests, and subject to availability, smaller groups may also be accommodated. Hafod Barn
Hafod Barn is an original stone barn which has been beautifully restored and partially rebuilt to provide a high quality, modern venue featuring large open plan spaces, comfortable ensuite bedrooms and a flood of natural light.
Key Features: 6 bedrooms (4 are ensuite), 72 sq. metre yoga studio with a smooth oak floor and underfloor heating, kitchen area for guests to make their own teas etc., spacious sitting area in the conservatory, utility room, front and rear terraces, extensive gardens
Ty Nant Barn
Ty Nant Barn is an original stone barn which has been respectfully renovated and converted to provide the perfect mix of rustic countryside style and modern comfort. Preserving many of the original features, with posts and beams, Ty Nant makes for the ultimate country retreat experience. Homely and not too big to be cosy.

Garth Country House
Grade II listed Garth Country House is the original House of the Garth Estate, formerly much larger and now a private 230 acre estate in Mid Wales. Home to the owners, John & Veronica and their three children, since 1990, Garth Country House was fully renovated to became part of the Garth Barns Venue in 2019. Garth Country House features many original architectural features (the rear of the property dates back to ~1600, and the front to 1870) along with all the carefully curated fittings and comforts you would expect at one of the UK’s leading retreat venues.
Key Features: 6 ensuite rooms, large front reception room typically used for the main dining room (for smaller groups using Garth Country House individually, this room may be partially cleared to create a studio space and separate sitting area), fully equipped kitchen with adjoining living space, utility room with further catering facilities, original oak staircase, victorian tiled floors and inglenook, large undercover deck with seating and outdoor dining, rear courtyard garden with fire bowl and seating, extensive gardens

Inclusions
Rooms are fully prepared with bathroom essentials including towels, a hairdryer, basic toiletries and are cleaned and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. While full fibre wifi, heating and hot water are, included, electric vehicle charging is by prior arrangement and charged at cost. Ample guest parking is provided onsite.
Special requirements for furniture arrangements can usually be accommodated to meet individual requirements, however, it is essential that this is agreed prior to booking.When hired on an exclusive basis, guests enjoy full and private access to the wonderful facilities at Garth Barns & Country House including exclusive access to the:
- Magical Dingle for meditation and wonder
- Lake for wild swimming and boating in the Canadian canoes (life jackets included)
- Real Finnish sauna and small gym
- Fire pit with group log seating and/or fire bowl
Guided walks and Nature walks are also typically available. Pre booking recommended. Maps and suggestions for walking throughout the 230 acres and beyond are always available.
